Hey, Tumblr family, because of you … my book is ranked #32. Thank You!
We’re currently at #32. Mark Twain, you better watch out because WE’RE COMING FOR YOU!
Get “Isn’t It Pretty To Think So?” for 99 cents, yo.
If you’re anything like me, Midori Kobayashi is probably the only character in Haruki Murakami’s novel Norwegian Wood whom you’d want to meet.
She lives above, and has access to, a bookstore that hardly ever opens. She’s “the kind of girl you notice” and often gets tipsy over whiskeys or a few Tom Collinses. Almost every sentence out of her mouth is part of an elaborate, enigmatic lie. She’s a woman who seeks out our protagonist, Toru Watanabe — an introverted, deeply scarred lit major — and plays the brazen romance shark to his wet fish. She teases Watanabe, asking repeatedly when he’ll take her to a porno theater. By the time we find out that Midori’s father isn’t visiting Brazil, as she insisted, but is dying a slow death in a nearby hospital, we are a little bit in love with her. When we see the deep sadness that has caused her outward-striking behavior, she’s even more of a complex joy.
He’s not exceptionally bright or talented, but we can get behind a lot of the things that Garfield supports. We think September 18, 1978 is the first mention of the orange cat’s disdain for the start of the work week.
Fuck Mondays.
“Just thought it might be cookie, off chance.” We’ll never get enough of this one. Growing up just wouldn’t be the same without you, Sesame Street.
We were watching the Westminster Dog Show in the Flood offices the other day when this bizarre creature walked on-screen and eventually won “Best in Show.” After doing some research, we confirmed that it is, in fact, a dog. Its name is Malachy and he’s a Pekingese.
Apparently, he prefers chicken and rice over steak.
Ummm, awesome. So how do I get these airless tires installed on my Prius?
Here at Flood, we love Beavis and Butthead as much as anyone, but Kevin Kirkpatrick’s demonstration of them in non-cartoon form is fucking terrifying.
Apparently, Google is coming out with an “entertainment device.” You mean…it gets better? We already thought Google+ was pretty damn funny. Err,entertaining.
Yes, our infatuation continues. It’s back on Sunday. We won’t watch it, but you can bet we’ll find it on Bit Torrent. Here’s an interview with the comic’s uber talented artist, Charlie Adlard.
Though this video takes place in New York, it seems appropriate after today’s ruling regarding one of California’s most polarizing propositions.
